POWERPOINT – Use “Black” Screen
[NOVICE] Have you ever been in the middle of a presentation and wanted to pause the projector briefly so that you could gain the audience’s full attention? Perhaps you’ve prepared a room for a slide show by warming up the equipment, yet wanted to have the screen be black (no images) until everyone was settled in and ready.
With a simple, one-click solution you can pause your presentation at any point — and display either a Black or White screen. Here’s how:
- Open your PowerPoint presentation.
- Click on the icon for presentation mode (or go to View, Slideshow).
- When you would like the screen to go Black, press the “B” key on your keyboard .
- To return to the presentation, press the “B” key again.
- To view a White screen, simply press the “W” key. Press it again to return to the presentation.
This can be useful when you want to:
- Pause your presentation to gain the full attention of your audience.
- Talk about something that is not relevant to the slide that is being viewed.
- Show a blank screen at the beginning or ending of your presentation.
In one easy keystroke you can fully control your presentation!
